Bonsoir Forgiveness for my English. I am new here. I try to recall the history of my family from Bukovina where I have my roots too. Many people of my village and my family emigrated in America at the beginning of 1900. For some of them I found the passengers list but for my grand uncles and aunts left towards Canada and US I do not find anything. There is nothing on Ellis Island archive. Does somebody know how much cost the trip from Trieste to New Orleans in 1907? (SS Gerty 21 sept. - Oct 26) or from Hamburg, Bremen or Rotterdam to Halifax, Baltimore or Detroit in 1911-1912? Unfortunately I don't have the name of the boat nor the name of the port but I think that more part of my family members left by Hamburg or Rotterdam. Village of origin is Ipotestie, Austria. Bukovina was under the Austrian occupation between 1775-1918. Today the north Bukovina is in Ukraina and that of the south in Romania. I'm looking info about: IATCU George (1891-1978) (american name Iatzko), Daniil (1888 -?) and Victoria (1894-1942). Marfta Hladiuc (1890 - 1980?). Left between 1911 and July 1912. George married Marfta Hladiuc on Jul 2, 1912 in Montreal. Horbaniuc Leon which was the husband of Victoria Iatcu. I also looking for Leon Krassi (1893-1973) left at the same time because I find it on a photograph with the marriage of George Iatcu in Montreal in 1912. He left second once in May 1920 (Hamburg- Detroit on the St.Louis boat). Leon's daughter give me photographs of which one called "meet me" It acts of a little boy of 3-4 years. There isn't the name of the boy but it is possible that it is Leon's child have during its first stay in Canada. Leon's daughter (63 years old today) would like to know if it a can be a brother. Leon said to his family from Bukovina that it was its godson. There is a web site where I'll be able to put this photograph? can be that someone over the Atlantic has a similar photograph in his files. (bottle in the sea.) >From my father's part family there're 3 grand uncles and a grand aunt left between 1912-1914. HRENIUC Lazar (1894-1985) Hreniuc Georgi (1890-1981) Hreniuc Demitrie (1885 -?) he went in 1912 on the boat SS Zeeland (25 March-12 April) Rotterdam - Portland. But in Jan 1914 I found his marriage in Ipotesti, Bukovina, Austria. It would have set out again in America two weeks after its marriage. We never have news from him. Hreniuc Victoria (1888 -?) I will be very glad to have some infos. The port of departure, date of arrival in America. With my thanks Maritza, Paris, France marita.hreniuc@orange.fr
