from the Sydney Gazette, January 22, 1804 A new Regulation is about to take place in the manner of taking Apprentices inthe Royal Dock Yards, which, if carried into effect, will be highly advantageous to the Service. In future, instead of Apprentices being taken indiscriminately, they are to be the sonsof Commissioned or Warrant OFficers inthe Royal navy, or the sons of Artificers in the naval Arsenals.
