Greetings, How complete are the Castle Gardens Lists? I am looking for Wolfgang Raith who according to his Declaration of Intent arrived in New York in October of 1888. I know that he came from Ried am Haidstein, Koetzting in East Bavaria. No success as of today. 1) I know the name could be misread by the scribe. 2) I know that the arrival year was one of the most misremembered dates on census information although he filed Declaration of 1892 which is only four years out. Seems to me to file the Declaration in a court he would have had to have good information. 3) Is it possible that his ship is not yet in the system? Clifford Bischoff

To my knowledge, they are very much INcomplete -- no where near where ellisisland.org was when they went public. I have yet to find ANYONE I've searched for there! But it can only improve, right?
