<shameless self promotion> I'm thrilled to announce that TheShipsList website has once again been honoured by being chosen as one of the 101 Best Web Sites for 2006 by Family Tree Magazine. We had already been chosen for the 101 Best Web Sites in 2003 and 2004 . . . for those wondering . . in 2005, the award was for the "101 Best Undiscovered Web Sites" . . . We do work hard and long to keep adding unique content, so it is great to learn that this is noticed and appreciated. :-} </shameless self promotion> *new* for TheShipsList website http://www.theshipslist.com/ All the new and updated files and databases have been placed on their own page(s) Find them on the front page in between the big arrows --------------> <--------------- At the bottom of each of these pages I have placed links named " previous month " and " next month " so you are able to navigate back and forth between the monthly *new & updated* pages, as I only keep three months of *new* page links on the Home page. New for September 2006 is . . . o Passengers: o Lady Sherbrooke - 12th trip up, Quebec to Montreal, 12th July 1826 o Lady Sherbrooke - 13th trip up, Quebec to Montreal, 18th July 1826 o Lady Sherbrooke - 14th trip up, Quebec to Montreal, 26th July 1826 o Lady Sherbrooke - 15th trip up, Quebec to Montreal, 1st August 1826 o Lady Sherbrooke - 16th trip up, Quebec to Montreal, 9th August 1826 o Lady Sherbrooke - 17th trip up, Quebec to Montreal, 15th August 1826 Six more Lady Sherbrooke steamboat lists. These pose a bit of a problem. I think the original list compiler either went on holiday or was reassigned, because this person does not spell very well with British or French names. His "hand" wasn't very clear either as his letters were not always well formed. Wife was spelled Whyfe and although some misspellings were obvious . . Corlenius (Cornelius) Sullivan & wife . . Alliot (Elliot) Johnson . . Catherain Morgin (Catherine Morgan) . . some others were not . . . Patric Dawsee (Dorsey ?) (Patrick Dawson / Darrell ?) . . Dennis Clairie (Clarey ?) & friend. I've tried to add the notes in ( ) to help during a web search. Someone else began to compile the lists from August 23rd, so I am hopeful for the balance of the Lady Sherbrooke lists for the rest of the year. Please share this *new* for TheShipsList website email, with any other list to which you belong if you think it might be of interest or value to those list members (in other words, on-topic). Enjoy !
