Hello Linda, The ORLANDO was a 'feeder' ship owned by Wilson Line and sailed between Scandinavian ports and Hull, UK where passengers would take a train to (probably) Liverpool where they boarded a transatlantic liner. She was a 1,671 gross ton ship built 1882 by Earle's Shipbuilding Co, Hull for Thos. Wilson, Sons & Co, 1903 sold to Sweden, 1905 renamed ATLE. 1916 Captured by German submarine while on voyage Gothenburg to London and converted to a German Army Transport ship.1918 converted to a collier. 1922 sold to E. Retzlaff, Stettin and 1924 scrapped in Germany. regards Ted ----- Original Message ----- From: "Linda McDermott" <lmcdermott@copper.net> To: <TheShipsList-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, July 02, 2006 3:23 AM Subject: [TSL] From Goteborg, Sweden to NYC (HULTMAN) 1887 > Dear List: > > I need help in locating the ship and its manifest that my grandmother came > to U.S. on.
