Hello Sue, I would suggest contacting the Merseyside Maritime Museum for further information. There is a consortium of seven National Museums in Liverpool which seem to compliment one another in maritime matters. One nice thing about Merseyside is they have an e-mail contact form for inquiries. They won't do "deep genealogical research" but perhaps can answer a question on Baboo and their builder/owners. Their archival and library information sheets outline what is in their repository - and each type of registry, log book, dock register, etc. outlines the time frame and they give the advantages and disadvantages of research in a particular archived item.
