I believe that one of my ancestors sailed on the "City of Philadelphia" from Liverpool to Philadelphia. The ship wrecked on her maiden voyage in Sep 1854 of Cape Race in Nova Scotia. I am trying to find the passenger list to see if she, Maria Josepha Schlachter, was aboard. Supposedly, no lives were lost. Any help would be appreciated. Bob Schlachter (bschlachter46@hotmail.com)
