I'm looking for a Moses Pickhol(T)z sailing on the SS Oldham out of Hamburg. The ship left on March 31, 1891. I haven't been able to find this ship arriving in the USA, let alone this pasenger. Thanks. Stephen Pickholtz searching-- PICKHOLTZ (all spellings) E-mail-------- nj55turtle@comcast.net
Hi Stephen, The OLDHAM was a North Sea passenger ferry owned by the Manchester, Sheffield & Lincolnshire Railway Co.which became the Great Central Railway in 1897. Built in 1888 she sailed between Hamburg and Grimsby where passengers would take a train, usually to Liverpool to board a transatlantic liner. Sold to Greece in 1913 and renamed ELEFTHERIA, 1928 renamed SAMOS, 1941 war loss. regards Ted ----- Original Message ----- From: <nj55turtle@comcast.net> To: <TheShipsList-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, April 30, 2006 9:40 PM Subject: [TSL] SS Oldham out of Hamburg??? > I'm looking for a Moses Pickhol(T)z sailing on the SS Oldham out of > Hamburg.
