Hi Folks, In 1863 newspaper reports say the Alexander WATERS was the owner of a brig, *Stephen Watson* built in The Wear in1838 at 219 tons. It ran aground at Gunfleet Sand on December 13th 1863 taking coal from Sunderland to London. All hands survived. A different newspaper quotes the owners as Messrs. A Watson and S. Grieves of Sunderland. According to the census and his son-in-law's obituary Alexander WATERS born in 1799 was also a Master mariner. I am looking for any further information on the brig and, if possible, an image of a coaling brig of that period. Regards Mike Yegwart
