Does anyone know of any ship manifests BEFORE Penn's arrival in 1682 that would have Joseph ASHTON from England on it? I have searched those I've found online, but no luck so far, and there's not that many. I know he was in Philadelphia before 1682, but I don't know how long, nor do I know if he actually came to Philly directly from England. Perhaps he came via New England several years earlier, or some alternative route. Joseph died in 1708, naming 2 children who are believed to have been b in Philly ca 1682/84. I have not been able to confirm that. Most family trees suggest Joseph was b 1654 in Lancashire, Englad, which would suggest Liverpool as the departure port; I have not been able to confirm that.
