Hi listers, The Library & Archives, Canada (LAC), have just uploaded a brand new online database for Immigrants to Canada for the period prior to the formal archiving of passenger lists, which was in 1865. This was initially a card index referred to as the "Miscellaneous Immigration Index." There is a very long list of the sources included and you can read those by clicking on the "Search Help" page. That page also gives a full description of the database.
