I am new to your list and was hoping someone might beable to help me. From a Natualization Petition I was told that an ancestor left Bremen and landed in New York on the SS George Washington on the 2 Sept 1913. In looking, by the ship's name, on the Ellis Island site, I went through the entire passenger list and was unable to find my person. Family lore stated that he may have worked his way to America. Can anyone tell me where I could find the list of the crew for this ship??? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Hi Patti, There are a number of very talented folks on this list who are incredibly imaginative when it comes to locating people. I know that the first thing that any of them would ask you is, "What is your ancestor's name and do you have a date of birth?" They will ask these things because the seemingly infallible records, including Naturalization Petitions, sometimes contain erroneous information. My Grandfather, for example, gave different dates of birth on at least three documents that I have found, and two different dates for the day he arrived here. Best of luck!
