New for July 2008 is . . . o Fleets: o Ã…ngfartyg A/B Bore / Bore Steamship Co. o Moss Hutchison Line, 1934-1979 o R.W. Leyland & Company (not to be confused with Leyland Line) Three more fleets. We have hundreds of historic and current Fleets but we have really only scratched the surface. The R.W. Leyland Fleet is actually a Sailing Ship Fleet, who later owned a few Steam Ships. Their main routes were from Liverpool to Australia and the West Coast of North and South America. o Passengers: o ship Oriental, from Southampton to Port Adelaide 1st November 1855 o ship Victoria Regia, from Plymouth to Port Adelaide 12th November 1855 Two more 1855 lists. The ORIENTAL has mostly English families, with the young single men and women being both Irish and English. I was able to confirm lots of maiden names and even confirm middle names for adults and children by using FreeBMD. Of those which I'm unsure, I have added a ? The VICTORIA REGIA has a mixture of English and Irish families. The single young men and women are mostly Irish. We will be glad to get any confirmation or extra details about the passengers. If anyone is able to furnish corrections or additions (like maiden names) to any of the South Australia Lists, please write to Robert or myself.
