    3. I have looked at a number of sites (including, of course, TSL) and cannot find the information I'm looking for. I'm hoping that someone on this list can point me in the right direction. The President Coolidge sailed from San Francisco to Singapore in March/April 1939, but I have not been able to establish the actual dates on which she left SFrisco and arrived in Singapore. I'd also like to know whether she called at any other ports en route. Any help greatly appreciated. Lindsay Graham Canberra, Australia

    3. Lindsay In the Los Angles Times of March 5, 1939 there is an ad for a round the world trip on the President Coolidge to say May 1, 1939. In that same paper is the sailing notice that I think you want: Sailed: President Coolidge, 12:40 p.m., Los Angeles Regards.. 3. Lindsay I kept looking at the LA Times and found a few more items: March 7: lists the ship sailing from San Francisco to Manila at 4:50 p.m. The Times of April 29, reported the arrival of the ship at SF from Manila on April 28. 3. Lindsay, You have received lots of info ... eg. Marj with President Coolidge advertised for a round the world trip in March 1939 and Allan with the great schedule info for May 1939 naming all the ports for that trip. The President Coolidge was first part of the Dollar Line fleet..... http://www.theshipslist.com/ships/lines/dollar.htm ..... which changed its name to American President Lines Ltd. on 1 November 1938 .... http://www.theshipslist.com/ships/lines/americanpresident.htm ..... maybe when the American President Lines schedule was printed, the March round the world trip for the PC hadn't yet been scheduled, or maybe it was a "one of" trip for that vessel ?? Don't know if you read the interesting mentions of the President Coolidge on the Dollar Line Fleet ... the vessel was actually arrested in June 1938 !
