I too am looking for biographical information of a Captain John F Booth. What I do know is that he was master of the 'Sarah Ann' in the 1870-80's. The Sarah Ann sailed out of Melbourne and made frequent trips to Sydney and Hobart. There is a vague mention of a trip to the coral sea in the mid 1870's with a return trip via Darwin, and Perth. There is also the suggestion of Blackbirding. I'm trying to collect as much as possible about the movements of the ship and perhaps a record of the crews in the late 1860's and early 1870's. He was the foster parent of my Great Grandfather, and I have a hunch that my Great Grandfathr's father was a member of the crew, or a Merchant in Melbourne. Much thanks. Paul Booth
