Hello Listers, I am new to this list, am trying to find a GGF Master Mariner (at least here in Australia) John Charles Bennett. His children's birth certificates indicate that he was born in the Devonshire in 1825. I find him first in 1852 married to Eliza Ann Nice, NSW The last time I find him is on the death certificate in 1876 of 2nd wife Ellen (Kelly) in QLD. I do not know how or when he got to Australia. So starts the job of ruling out people with like names. In 1850 THE COUNTESS OF YOURBROUGH left London 15-2-1850 via Plymouth 23-2-1850 to Port Adelaide 16-6-1850. The captain was JOHN BENNETT. Could the list do a search for me and tell me all there is about this captain that may or may not help me please ? With thanks Gordon Bennett
