Hi List, I have a List or Manifest of all the passengers taken board on the SS HOLLAND. London to USA. In November 1872. The Master was John G. Bragg. My 4th great grandfather, Thomas Buckle, his wife and infant daughter Emily were aboard. How can I find the US arrival port? Also where can I find a picture of the SS HOLLAND? Any info appreciated. Thanks so much! Am looking for any info.about a Frank WOOD, born 26 May 1890 possibly as child of Isaac & Rachel WOOD in Yorkshire. He served for the British as a footsoldier in WW1. Between 1918-1925 when he possibly was living in Redcar (northern coast of Yorkshire) he traveled back and forth between England and Canada working as a ship's painter. Supposedly he landed originally on the westcoast of Canada and ended up in Toronto where he died 5 Feb 1963. Any suggestions as to what records might be available to help identify his birthplace & parents, etc. What ports would he have used to travel back & forth? Thank you. Hi All, I am looking for the movements of Austin POWER, born in Plymouth in 1817 to Mathew POWER (Master Mariner) and Elizabeth FISHER. He married Harriet BARDENS on 26 March 1844 in Plymouth, and is in London as the Publican of the Crown Tavern. He had been the Mate on numerous ships between 1836 and 1844. July 1854 he and his family sailed aboard the Fitzjames to Melbourne. This was a disaster and he lost his twins and wife within the first couple of years. I am still tracking his other three children at present but would like to know what happened to him as he appears to have disappeared. I suspect he may have returned to England on some ship as I see a marriage of an Austin POWER in Marylebone, London in 1874. Once I can find movement in that direction I will order that marriage certificate :)) Thanks for any assistance you can give me with this guy. Hooray, Warren in Ballarat, Australia (ex Kiwi). Cattle die, Kinsmen die, But fame is ever lasting.
Hi All, I had my family sail into Melbourne onboard the Fitzjames in September 1854. Later I am told Justina POWER (1845) went to Dunedin, New Zealand and married. I was wondering if SKS would be able to do a lookup for her arrival there please....and tell me if either of her two remaining brothers accompanied her. They were Austin William Bardens POWER (1847) and Alfred Mathew Edwin Manning POWER (1850). Thank you for any assistance you can give me with this family. Hooray, Warren in Ballarat, Australia (ex Kiwi). Cattle die, Kinsmen die, But fame is ever lasting.
Hi Everyone, I am seeking information on Louis Bourquin/Versailles. He is my GGGGF .He immigrated from Versailles, France in 1743. From France he went to Montreal Canada. His occupation on arrival was, Soldier of the troops of the marine, company of St-Bear. He had four brothers and sisters and they were baptized in Versailles (Notre-Dame) between 1715 and 1721. He had a twin brother Guillaume , born the 03-10-1717 and baptized the 05 of the same month. His father, of Swiss origin, died at the age of 48 years age and is buried in Versailles (Notre-Dame) 14-07-1729. Louis parents were Isaac and Marie-Anne (Chomet) Louis married Louise Marceau in montreal, on Jan. 29, 1748. I am looking for any information on the name of the ship he came to Canada on, dates, and any information anyone might have on my GGGG. As far as I know he was the only one to immigrate to Canada. I haven't come across any more information on anyone else in his family coming to Canada. Thank you Eileen

Has anyone come across a 9 year old Richard Littlewort, passenger, who was shipwrecked whilst entering Porto Rico off Cape St. Vincent, Portugal in 1831 and drowned in his father's arms. His father Richard Pike Littlewort may have been the master. I don't know the name of the ship, nor how to find it, any ideas? Thanks Ian
I know this is not much information but as of right now all I have. "Mr. and Mrs. Roggy came to America in 1848 aboard a sailing vessel of the early type, which caught fire and so delayed the journey as to take thirty-six days to make the trip". My ggggrandfather Roggy was original from France and I believe they landed in New Orleans. They made there home in Lake County, Illinois and later moved to Trumbull, Clay County, Nebraska. Can anyone tell me how to locate this sailing vessel or if it is impossible without further information. Thank you for your time, Vicki Roggy Showell Omaha, NE.

The deceased Magdalena Adamska is listed as having died 30 Nov 1923 on board the George Washington. The ship arrived at Ellis Island Dec. 6. 1923. The cemetery's burial record has a coffin size recorded so we believe her body was returned to Detroit. I am waiting for the death certificate to arrive. Would it have been filed in NY or MI- or both? Her Detroit burial is listed as Dec 12 , 1923. My questions include: Since earlier deaths on board resulted in burial at sea- including markings the Longitude and Latitude of burial- when did the at sea burials end and what type of morgue - or storage- was available for the deceased? How would the family have made arrangements to bring her body from NY to MI? Her adult son Jacob Adamski was traveling with her. Thanks for any advice!
