Dear Liz, for many years I follow your activities in this list and want to thank you very much for your engagement. I unfortunately am not able to take over the List Ownership (meanwhiles 75 years old). I got in contact with several people (researchers in the direction of my family name, but without concrete traces. I learned e.g. that the name is originally coming often from England/UK - I once found a Theobald Street in London (!). Also some links to France (Thibaud/Thibault) but no relatives in the States. It was in a document of the year 1859 in Roschbach/Landau - Palatine that I read: one of the heirs of the parents of my gtgtgrandfather = Friedrich Adam THEOBALD (born abt. 1797 at Nussdorf/Landau, dead 15.4.1834 Roschbach) named Conrad THEOBALD (born 18 july 1822) wine-grower, was living in 1859 in "North America".
