Hi All, I recently purchased a Living Era CD " You have to Laugh, Don't You?" ( Amazon.co.uk) that has recordings made be the likes of Nellie Wallace, Rob Wilton and Max Miller and who can forget Trains by Reginald Gardiner. The one track that came as a big surprise, as I had never heard it before, was called "Everything is Fresh Today" by Jack Hodges who was known as "The Raspberry King". The recording was originally made on September 24, 1933. I understand that in one of the recent tribute TV programs to Spike Milligan shown in the UK, Milligan was shown dressed with large red lips and a fright wig performing "Everything is Fresh Today". Does anyone have information, or could point me in the direction where I could find more about Jack Hodges, who he was, how long he performed in the Music Halls and was he known for anything other than this "Everything is Fresh Today." etc.?
