    3. Hi Barry had a quick look in Who's Who in the Theatre (10th Edition 1947) , which gives opening dates as follows Royalty (1) 25 Mar 1840 Royalty (2) 12 Nov 1861 Royalty (3) 23 Apr 1883 Royalty (4) 4 Jan 1905 I don't know if this means there were 4 of them or the same one opened and shut a number of times! I think it's the same one. It also says in the longest running section as follows Charley's Aunt Royalty 21 Dec 1892 1,466 Who were you looking for? Hope this helps regards Derek Ive ----- Original Message ----- From: Barry J Facey <barry.facey@ntlworld.com> To: <THEATRE-UK-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, January 12, 2003 9:32 PM Subject: [THEATRE-UK] Royalty Theatre Query > I am new to the list and wondered if anyone could tell me, > 1 - Where the Royalty Theatre was in London? > 2 - When the last performance was? > 3 - If there is any way of finding out who was in the original cast of Charley's Aunt? > Any information may be helpful! > > Barry > >

    3. Thanks for the information, I am guessing that the Royalty was in London as I have now found out that there is a Royal in Bury St Edmonds that begun a production of Charley's Aunt during 1892. I don't know if they are the same theatre. The actress that I am interested in is an Ada Branson. 3. Hi Barry, couldn't track down any info on Ada Branson I'm afraid, good luck with your research. There were also Royalty Theatre's in Bath, Brighton, Exeter, Glasgow, Hanley, Leeds, Leicester, Newcastle and York.
