Hello everyone, Thanks for the kind words from Lauren and welcome again Marje, and a big hello to Neal,I finally have found an old copy of "British Music Hall"by Raymond Mander and Joe Mitchenson and I have to say I am facinated by the pictures and captions, spans the 1850's through to 1900's.Not a lot on my ancestor "Bessie Bellwood" but anyone wanting a look up let me know. Some more bad news about my search for information on Bessie, when in England in 1985 I was shown several pictures of Bessie by a cousin who had found them in our Grandmothers effects, when I asked "who is Bessie Bellwood"I was told that she was "a distant relative possibly a cousin"of Grans. Several years ago when I started to trace the family connection I contacted my cousin and asked if I could get copies of the pictures which as I remember were signed,no reply and I have asked several times since finding that Bessie was our Great Grandmothers sister, finally this week I received word from another cousin that the pictures were "given away" in 1987 and copies were never made!!! I will continue to search in the hopes that someone somewhere has other pictures of "Bessie". In the meantime if anyone wants a lookup let me know< Carole in Canada.

They would be 1850-1880. Many Thanks, Mary Bendigo Australia <mairibeth@iprimus.com.au> http://home.iprimus.com.au/mairibeth/
Carole, Thanks for the offer of a look up. Could you please see if there is any mention of a Madam Rolls (or Rowles) who was a pianist around the turn of the century. Her name was Madge Watson and we believe she married someone Rolls. Hello Carole - I am always on the lookout for Fred Hastings, music hall entertainer from about 1906 onwards. If he is mentioned in your book please let me know. Thank you. Pat in Ontario.
