Hi there. I'm new to the list and hoping someone in the UK may be able to assist me. I'm looking for any information on a gg aunt, Agnes "Lillian Carew" Collyns. She was born 1867-1871 in UK, we believe. She was a singer and performer in London prior to going to South Africa in 1890 or earlier. She performed at the Royalty and Court Theatres in London, she was a pupil of Lady Monckton, Mrs. St John Wood, Paul Berton and was a stage manager for Sara Bernhardt. She appeared to be a member of the French Comic Opera Company in London. The London "Dramatic Review" made comments on her success at the Pribnce of Wales Theatre and the London "Era" commented how ell she played a part in the play "Dick Drayton's Wife". She then went to Johannesburg and Australia. Any help would be great, particularly about any personal background. Many thanks. Jim Australia
