    1. Re: [THEATRE-UK] Any Ideas? - Eddie Chittenden
    2. In a message dated 6/1/01 1:17:26 AM, [email protected] writes: << I recently received some data from New Orleans which made mention of Eddie Chittenden who worked as a volunteer organizer at the schools in the area arranging and directing the school fund raising musicals, black-faced minstrels concerts drama events. >> Arthur, my guess is that the largest amount of information available would be in the microfilms of the New Orleans Times-Pickayune newspaper (which back in those days was probably two papers, morning and evening, one the Times and the other the Pickayune). Maybe the person who gave you the information you have would be willing to search the papers and print out hardcopy for you. The papers would have articles about the shows as well as advertisements, and would also, of course, have covered the controversy at the time the shows were closed down. The public library would be the place where the newspaper microfilms would reside. Here is a link to the library website: http://nutrias.org/ Happy hunting!
