Hi all Can anyone suggest how I can find out more about the theatrical career of the Ruth Gower. She was born 29 January 1912 in Pontypridd where her father was a clergyman. She died 21 August 1987 at the New Victoria Hospital, Kingston upon Thames. All I have is an undated newspaper cutting stating that she is at present with the Royal Opera House, Cairo. 'She left this country recently with a selected English company, sent on a tour to various places where there are British colonies, by the Churnivisky Bureau. The company, who have a repertoire of ten plays have just reached Cairo. Among other centres to be covered are Alexandria, Malta and Gibraltar.' >From her photograph which accompanies the article this was in the late 1920's/ early 1930's. It also states that ' for the past few years she had been following a stage and film career with remarkaable success.'
