GDay Dave and fellow listers.. Thankyou for the welcome Dave, could be a chance for me to add a few more names to the tree. I am aged 74 with lots of grandchildren/grtgrandchildren asking questions so would welcome any info from the List. Cyrus Bell was married to my maternal Gran's sister, thus grt'Uncle and Aunt. Together with George Formby Snr and Barnaby Parsons they had a Troupe of Nigger Minstrels at Blackpool. My Grt Aunt was called AnnaBella. This was circa 1890.This and other info came in a letter from a Mr Geoff Mellor of Bradford after i had published a letter in the CALL BOY mag'. This was 1982 when i first started my Tree. He asked me to follow up by contacting a Kathleen Eyre, the Fylde Historian.Evidently she had written about Cyrus Bell many years before. Like a fool, I never did contact her. So over there somewhere is info that i would dearly like. Geoff mentioned that after the Troupe broke up " Barnaby Parsons and George Formby went on Stage to become famous. I believe Cyrus Bell was also connected with Circus folk because my Mother used to tell us tales of him walking on Bamboo stilts playing a Big Drum. He would lean over the audience( the stilts bending) and the drum and sticks would fall on strings, no doubt a shock to them underneath, HaHa!. Mum, prior to WW1 toured in Wardrobe, if i remember, with the parents of Mr Bob Monkhouse?. Now if any of you kind folk could point me to any little ' Bells ' (one was Connie, believe she went to USA) or snippets of info' I await your welcome mail, thankyou and regards ......
