Hello Everyone As a new subscriber I'd like to post my interests My great grandfather William Mower AKHURST married Ellen TULLY on 26 October 1845 in Parish of St George Bloomsbury Middlesex. Ellen was described as an actress and W.M. as a warehouseman. Ellen TULLY I believe, was the daughter of Thomas TULLY a musician and was born in Guildford W.M. and Ellen left for Australia in 1849 and lived first in Adelaide and then Melbourne until returning to U.K. in 1870. W.M. died on board ship when returning to Australia in 1878 W.M. was a prolific writer of burlesque and produced a new pantomime practically every Christmas while in Australia. During the years in U.K. 1870-1878 he wrote pantomimes for Astley's, The Pavilion and the Elephant & Castle Theatres Any information regarding the parentage of W.M. and Ellen and any details of their early careers would be most welcome. Thank you Gretta Lucas
