We have a mention of Wilson Barrett in our research - Elsie (or Eliza) Maisey was the daughter of George Maisey of Dulwich, London, and before her marriage in 1881 she had a very sucessful theatrical career. Eliza Maisie was primarily a Shakesperian actress and for some years was the leading lady for Wilson Barrett - a very famous stage personality in those years. Her marriage to William Henry Wellsted did not end her stage interests and she remained a leading member of the East Yorkshire Dramatic Society, and also undertook acting and singing for every well-known charity in the Hull area. We would love to recieve any information about Elsie as we have very little of her history before marriage.
