My grandfather Walter Roche was a member of the Variety Guild and worked in vaudeville roughly between 1900 and 1940 in London. He performed under the name of 'The Boy Magician' in his early teens and later as 'Marco' and 'Waltina''. He did much charity work for the Variety Guild and I believe that this organisation supported my grandmother's family after his death.
