More from the probate registers:- 1901 ----- Tetley Amelia of Alexandra Crescent, Ilkley, Yorkshire, widow, died 23 Jul 1901, probate London, 9 Oct to Henry Read Butler, spinner & manufacturer, effects £1860-9-6. [Amelia Butler (1811-1901) married Benjamin Tetley on 9 Jul 1835 at Bingley. He was an auctioneer and grocer. I'm not aware of any children.] Tetley George of 55 Cambridge Terrace, Hyde Park, Middlesex, died 18 Sep 1901, probate 25 oct to Richard Tetley, gentleman, effects £326-7-0. [I've drawn a blank here. Any suggestions, gratefully received!] Tetley James Carter of the ‘Guinea’ vaults, Wakefield, licensed victualler, died 12 Dec 1900, probate Wakefield 10 Jan to Mary Eliza Tetley, widow, & William Hemsworth Linley, brewer, effects £110-0-0. [James Carter Tetley was born in Ireland, the son of William Tetley and Caroline (nee Carter). He was unmarried, aged 43, in 1881.] Tetley Joseph of Rooms Lane, Morley died 23 Apr 1901, probate Wakefield, 22 Jun to Mephibosheth Hirst, corn merchant, John Thomas Butterfield, spinner, effects £384-9-6. [I can't place this chap. Any suggestions?] Tetley Mary Hodgson of Bank House, Wellingboro, Northants, widow, died 7 Oct 1901, probate London 13 Dec to Mary Emily Townsend (wife of Thomas Henry Townsend) & Alice Susan Harrison (wife of Thomas Harrison) effects £42,383-8-4. [Mary Hodgson Smith was the wife of George Greenwood Tetley. They married in 1840. Mary & Alice were the two, known, surviving daughters. Another surviving child, George Rennie Tetley, was featured in the 'Extraordinary Ancestors' TV programme, recently.] Tetley Robert of the ‘Robin Hood’ hotel, Church Bank, Bradford, publican, died 15 Sep 1901, probate Wakefield, 25 Oct to Samuel Tetley, innkeeper, effects £336-11-8. [Robert is relatively unknown, to me, apart from being mentioned as the father of Samuel, when Samuel married Martha Emily Totty in 1894 and as the father of Thomas Henry T, Samuel's brother, when he married Ellen Derick/Dewick also in 1894. Apart from that these folk appeared out of the blue!] 1902 Tetley William of Widney House Solihull, Warwickshire, & Floodgate Street, Birmingham, screw manufacturer, died 10 May 1902 at Widney House, probate Birmingham 8 Aug to Elizabeth Lucy Tetley, widow, & Henry Hunt, screw manufacturer, effects £24,341-7-11. [William (1848-1902) was born in Birmingham. His mother was named Ann, his father's name is not known by me. He had a sister Sarah, but no more known family, or children] Regards Richard (in Nottingham)
