So, I suspect that Betty was James' mother. James married Mary Ann Driver in 1832 at Keighley. And the 1841 census has this entry CENSUS 1841 KEIGHLEY (PINFOLD) PIECE NUMBER 1316 ED 1 FN 21 JAMES TETLEY HEAD MARRIED 35 YEARS WOOL COMBER MARY TETLEY WIFE 30 YEARS JOS TETLEY SON 7 YEARS ELIZ TETLEY 65 YEARS MARY TETLEY 20 YEARS So, we're looking for a James born about 1805 The IGI has a James, son of Joseph and Elizabeth Holmes, baptised in Keighley in 1804. So now we have James (1804-), Hannah(1805-), Joseph (1807-1817), George (1810-) & Mary(1820-), All baptised as children of Joseph Tetley and Elisabeth Holmes. But, just to confuse things, a Joseph Tetley married Betty Iveson in Keighley in 1803. Hmmm. That doesn't stack up... back to the archives...! Cheers Rich (in Notts)
