From the 1881 census, he had children; Joseph (see earlier posting), Charlotte and Walter. I can only assume that Emily is a new, younger, wife! It wasn't unusual in those days, because women often died from the complications of childbirth etc. Or maybe Jane just upped and left! So, taking a stab at the parentage of the other children shown here, I guess that John and Charles were definitely, sons of Jane's. I'll guess that Elsie, Lillian, and Baden, could be Emily's children. Incidentally, Walter's being economical with his years. He was 25 in 1881, so he should be 45 in 1901! According to the Freebmd website a Walter Tetley married Emily Knapton, in the first quarter of 1900 in Bradford. so perhaps only the last child (Baden) was Emily's? Since I can't find another Walter, married to an Emily, on the 1901 census, I must assume that Walter & Emily are the couple who married in 1900.
