    1. The death of Shaun Tetley
    2. Richard Tetley
    3. There was a report in the Nottingham Evening post on Saturday the 8th of February 2003, about the unfortunate death of Shaun Tetley, aged 30. It seems that Shaun was an epileptic, and in the course of suffering a fit, fell from the canal boat on which he was travelling. He fell into the Nottingham Canal, at a place called Dunkirk, at 10:30 a.m. on December 16th 2002. His uncle, Anthony Tetley, dived into the freezing waters twice, in an attempt to rescue Shaun, but could not find him in the cold, dark, water. Shaun's father, Alan Tetley, was some 800 yards further up the canal, on another boat, and unaware of the tragedy taking place behind him. The police and firemen, who were called to the scene, recovered Shaun's body some 40 minutes later. The Nottinghamshire coroner, Dr. Nigel Chapman, said that Anthony had done everything he could. It was really difficult to find someone in the dark and murky canal waters. The coroner recorded a verdict of accidental death. Regards Richard
