Hi Folks Happy New Year. Sorry we have been quiet for a while but here is an update date on our research. We can now definately confirm all the following: Eli Pearson Tetley born 31st August 1868 Mother Harriet Tetley formerly Rhodes (wife of Mark Tetley who died 1864) Father Eli Pearson (we beleive he died in 1890 but not verified this yet) He married Annie Marion Thompson 22nd October 1903. These are Steve's grandparents and they had three children including Steve's father. A chance sighting of an entry in the Undercliffe cemetery records on these Archives has turned up some more information. The entry reads: 47. TETLEY Herbert Pearson infant of Bradford East Ref No 26043 date 1892 Herbert Pearson Tetley's birth certificate shows: born 25th April 1891 Father Eli Pearson Tetley Mother Margaret Ellen Tetley formerly Crowley He died in January 1892 and is buried in the plot of Jeremiah Crowley This means that Steve's grandmother was Eli's second wife. Another avenue for us to research. Sue and Steve Tetley
Hi Sue & Steve, Thanks for updating us. This looks like the 1881 census entry for the Crowleys. It would need some corroboration, of course. I can't spot an 1881 census entry for the Thompsons, on the information we have at the moment.
