Weeeeell. At baptism he was William E Tetley. In the 1851 census, he was William M Tetley. In the 1861 census he was William N Tetley. I'm fairly sure it is one and the same man, because a William Tetley with a mother called Caroline, and with an elder brother called James Carter Tetley, was just about unique in that time frame. Unless, of course, I'm missing something ...... But it is odd, because Caroline was Caroline Carter, born in Queens County, Ireland, before she married, and the other children have middle names of Carter, Ellis and Russell. If the 'E' stood for Ellis, It would stack up. Unfortunately, we lose track of William E/M/N Tetley after the 1861 census. Several of his siblings died prematurely, so it wouldn't be too surprising if he died in his late teens. I have an open mind on this family, because the 1851 census details are contradictory.
