The ages would have to be wrong; Henry would have been 47 and Frances 46, but Henry was indeed a coal miner. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ > Mary TETLEY head married 58 years born Bradford > Oliver TETLEY son single 31 years Coal Ironstone Header born Hunsworth all of 11 Railway Street (RG 13/4174 ED 8 FN 6) Mary was the wife of Mark Tetley (1838-) a son of Frederick Wentworth Tetley. Oliver was also known as Olliver, which threw me off the scent for a moment! So, where's Mark? Dyson, who follows, was a brother of Oliver's ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ > Dyson TETLEY head 29 years Coal Header born Cleckheaton > Ellen TETLEY wife 27 years born Ireland > Laura Dorran TETLEY daughter 7 years born Bradford > Wm TETLEY son 4 years born Bradford > all of 22 Railway Street (RG 13/4174 ED 8 FN 6) Dyson was a brother to Oliver, as mentioned above. His wife, Ellen's, maiden name was Dyson... Her middle name was Doran/Dorran, which was obviously passed on to their daughter Laura. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ > > Anna TETLEY head single 57 years Living of own means born Birkenshaw of 4 Knowles Street (RG 13/4174 ED 8 FN 20) Anna was with her mother in the 1881 census:- Sarah HOLDSWORTH W 60 F Clayton Heights, York, England Rel: Head Anna TETLEY U 37 F Birkenshaw, York, England Rel: Dau Occ: Dealer In Fancy Work I haven't managed to piece together the Tetley connection yet. I assume that her mother was, at the time Sarah was born, married to a Tetley, who died, and she re-married to a Holdsworth. Alternatively, Anna could have been born 'out of wedlock' and Sarah's maiden name was Tetley. Another little mystery! hey ho... Cheers Rich ----- Born in Sheffield, but currently in Nottingham UK.
