The ages of Dan and Arthur are a bit difficult to resolve with the fact that Cornelius was unmarried in 1881! Maybe they were adopted sons of Rachel's from a previous marriage? A bit of detective work (on the freebmd website) reveals that Rachel was Rachel ELLIS before she married Cornelius. The marriage took place in the second quarter of 1885. I suspect that they were sons of Rachel's, despite the fact that she wasn't married in 1881. Maybe they were sons of Cornelius, all along, but for some reason he couldn't marry their mother! Serenna would appear to be the child of Cornelius and Rachel, since she was born after (or at least about the same time that) they married.
