His father, Joseph, was also an Inn keeper. > Beatrice Mary daughter of Harry and Annie TETLEY of Birkenshaw (Publican) born 13 December 1892 baptized 22 January 1893 page 176 Beatrice died in infancy. She was buried on 1st April 1894. Her father, Harry, had died less than two weeks before, in Mar 1894. > Emily TETLEY 19 years spinster of Birkenshaw father Joseph TETLEY (Inn Keeper) married Joe COCKCROFT 21 years bachelor (Book Keeper) of Birkenshaw father John COCKCROFT on 19 April 1876 page 30 number 59 By the 1881 census, these two had two girls, Maggie Cockcroft Tetley, and Edith Cockroft, and John was an 'aerated water manufacturer'.
