Looking for any connections to a William MUSGRAVE, certainly the HOWE, SAWDON, TETLEY and HORSFALL families are connected to him. William MUSGRAVE had 2 daughtrs Beattrice Hannah who became a HOWE and Edith Tetley who became a SAWDON, I suspect William MUSGRAVE married a TETLEY but cannot be 100% sure. The family were related to Sir John Donald HORSFALL, baronet, who once lived in Park Lane, London and whose family is mentioned in Burkes Peerage. The SAWDON's lived near Totney, Devon at one stage and Derbyshire at another stage. anyone got any obvious connections or advice? Mark Hughes www.numiscorp.com

Hi folks, Yes, I know there's a forty year gap from my last posting, but this is the next year that I happened to transcribe, when I was in Nottingham Archive! Keeping up the series, here's the probate records for .... 1903 ----- Tetley George Greenwood of Addingham, Yorkshire & of Bradford, stuff merchant, died 21 Jan 1873, administration London, 10 Jan to Mary Emily Townsend (wife of Thomas Henry Townsend) & Alice Susan Harrison (wife of Thomas Harrison) effects £213-3-0. Former grant Wakefield Mar 1873. [George Greenwood Tetley was one of the six sons of George Tetley & Grace (nee Greenwood), and the husband of Mary Hodgson Smith. He was one of Bradford's 'stuff' manufacturers] Tetley Richard Henry of 12 Waverley Rd., Sefton Park, died 3 Jun 1903 at Las Palmas, Grand Canary Islands, probate London 27 jul to Annie Wilkinson Bousfield (widow) & Frank Tetley, brewers manager, effects £7584-17-6. [I think I need help with this one. Apparently with connections to the brewery, but I can't find him in my database! Sometimes you can't see Tetleys for Tetleys] Tetley Samuel Beverley of 50 Brunel St., Liverpool, cotton porter, died 20 May 1884, administration London 6 Jul to Barbara Tetley, effects £705. [Samuel was born 1836 in Fearnley, Yorks. His parents are a mystery to me. ] Tetley Samuel Herbert of Gooseberry Place, Allerton, died 5 May 1903 at New Market, New Zealand, administration 24 Jul, to Sarah Tetley, widow, effects £150-0-0. [Samuel Herbert Tetley was the eldest son of William Tetley and Sarah (nee Tetley). I'm not aware of any children of this marriage] Tetley Thomas of 13 Clive St, Crewton, Derbyshire, gentleman, died 31 Jul 1903, probate to Caroline Eliza Tetley, widow, effects £298-10-0. [I think this is Thomas Tetley (1829- ) tea dealer & gentleman of Derbyshire. He appears to have re-married after his first wife, Emma, died in 1883. However Thomas never appears at the same address twice, so I may be jumping to the wrong conclusion! ] Regards Richard (in Nottingham)
