Hi folks, In case anyone doesn't know about the London Gazette; this is the official newspaper of record, (where legal notices are placed) Anyway there is an online archive to the back numbers, and I've been digging in there tonight. There was a notice placed in 1919, relating to the estate of Francis Pritchett. The executors of his will were:- Hilda Tetley Pritchett (spinster) William Henry Tetley Richard Tovey Rawlings Are any of these name familiar to anyone on the list? Alfred was wounded on two occasions and Charles on three occasions. The wounds mentioned in the reports were shrapnel wounds and bayonet wounds. (Nothing too major then! :-}, I wonder if they thought they were lucky to have missed 'the big one', or unlucky to have been caught three times!) I imagine that many men would have thought one 'blighty wound' was the end of the war for them. These guys went back again, and again! One can only marvel at their courage. Regards Richard
