Hi Thanks for the info Richard. The entry on the 1881 census for 35 Filbert Street got us puzzled because none of the ages tie in with those given on the 1871 census. Eli Pearson Tetley's birth certificates states he was born in 1868 so I am guessing the 1871 census is correct. So in 1881 Harriet Tetley 51, Mary Ann Tetley 25, Evelina Tetley 21, Angela Tetley 19 and Eli Pearson Tetley 12. This is what we think!! We also checked the freebmd but did not find anything so we had a trip to Leeds yesterday and spent three hours in the Library. We found the marriage entry for Eli Pearson Tetley for 1903 so hopefully when we get the certificate it may give a clue to his father. Sue and Steve

Hi Bill, Thanks for the information on Herbert. He was a son of Thomas Pape Tetley and Phoebe (Stones). Herbert's son, Harold, died in August this year, aged 93.
