    3. Hello all! I am new to the list! My grandmother Della Templeton from Lancaster, SC. Della married Wilshire Dunlap and moved to Rock Hill, SC. Their children: Ezra Bavard1903 (my Dad) Eva Pauline 1905 Mabel Eva 1907 Louis 1909 So I'll give you the Templeton information I have on them and see if you can answer some of my mystery questions... and see if your lines meet mine. I am trying to find out who the parents of James C. Templeton in SC. I found him on the census in 1850 at the Spring Creek School for the Deaf and Blind (aka SC School for the Deaf and Blind) Spartenburg, SC. He was a student there and was deaf. The 1860 census shows him still at the school, now as a mechanic, and married to Mary J., a seamstress. Later, they had a son named named Davis (16), my great grandfather, who married Sarah Anne Louise Usher (also 16) in 1881. This occurred in Lancaster County, SC. Sarah got pregnant shortly after marriage and Davis died in an accident before my grandmother, Carrie Idella (Della) Templeton, was born in 1882. After Davis' death, Della went to live with the her grandparents. James died 11/13/1884. Mary petitioned the court to take custody of Della stating that she was the grandmother but signed the petition as Margaret Templeton. This occurred in Lancaster, SC. I am looking for information about who were James' parents. The school for the deaf and blind opened in 1849 with six students. James was not one of the six named. I have a history of the school's beginning. I am also looking for how Davis died. I have checked the records at the Lancaster County courthouse and the local newspaper but nothing was mentioned.
