(son of David Templeton, Sr. and ) was born ca. 1765 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina; died after March 10, 1813 in Burke County, North Carolina. The time and place of his marriage is not known nor is the name of his wife. David served as a Private in the North Carolina Forces. She married David Cowan. DAVID GREEN TEMPLETON (son of John Templeton and Rachel West) was born ca. 1802 in Iredell County, North Carolina. JOHN H. TEMPLETON (son of John Templeton and Rachel West) was born ca. 1805 in Iredell County, North Carolina. On November 4, 1841 in Calhoun County, Alabama he married Levina Jane Harmon. He was living in Randolph County, Alabama on the 1850 census. JAMES HARVEY TEMPLETON (son of John Templeton and Rachel West) was born ca. 1807 in Iredell County, North Carolina. On June 26, 1842 in Calhoun County, Alabama he married Martha M. Petty. He was in DeKalb County, Alabama on the 1850 census. NANCY TEMPLETON (daughter of John Templeton and Rachel West) was born ca. 1815. She married John Wallace. SAMUEL P. TEMPLETON (son of John Templeton and Rachel West) was born 1816 in Tennessee. He married 1st on August 22, 1842 Melinda Kennedy born and died before 1850. He married 2nd on December 27, 1856 Mary Edmonston born ca 1835 and died . Children of Samuel P. Templeton married Melinda Kennedy on August 22, 1842 in Calhoun County, Alabama. Melinda Kennedy was not listed on the 1850 Census and her youngest child being one year old - we can assume that she died about 1850 - probably in childbirth. ----------------- Samuel P.
