    3. Park, What an amazing wealth of Temple info - thank you! Does anyone have a clue who Samuel and Henry Temple are showing up early in Orange Co, NC. Granville Proprietary Deeds Surveys #287 1 Mar 1759 Sml Temple, planter, then shillings, on both sides Bear Creek waters of Rocky River, begin at a pine on Daniel Norris surver, E 55 1/2 ch. to a white oak saplin, N crossing Bear Creek, 42 ch. to a white oak, W 55 1/2 hh. to black jack oak, S -- ch. to Norris corner hickory by Bear Creek, his line S crossing creek to first station. 233 acres, nine shillings, four pence, rent per year. Surveyed 17 Apr 1756 Daniel Norris and Peter Flinn, sworn chain carriers. (see also: NC Patent bk 12:46) #198 11 May 1757 Daniel Norris planter, 10 shillings on both sides of Bear creek and the New Road going from Cane Creek to Cape Fear. 17 Apr 1756, Samuel Temple and Patrick Flinn, sworn chain carriers. (see also; NC Patent bk 12:13) Samuel Temple warrent 3 Feb 1756 640 acres on both sides of Bear Creek of Haw River, about a mile below Cape Fear Road, lying over against head of George’s Creek and against head of Horse Br. Entered 9 Sept 1755, surveyed 17 Apr 1756, for 233 acres, deed 1 Mar 1759. Also found mention of Henry Temple in court records of 1760... didn’t take down specifics. Samuel is still there in 1768 when he buys more land on S side of Deep River, formerly Bladen Co (150 acres). I am very interested in these two Temples! So, even if only the names/time frame match, please let me know. Thanks, Joanne
