Hello Everyone, It seems my plan to start an alternative chat to the exclusive "AOL members only" monthly Great Temple chat have not got off the ground as quickly as I hoped and I'm wondering whether I should just abondon the plan and take down my chat off my page or not. I'd like for everyone to "vote" on it by letting me know what you think I should do. Here are the options I thought we could vote on: 1. Is there a need for an alternative to the "AOL" chat or not? 2. Should I leave the Temple chat on my chat page for 8 PM Friday or should I change it to another day and time? Would 6 PM (Eastern) Sunday be better? 3. Should I change the chat from a weekly chat to a monthly chat? Would say the 10th of every month at 9 PM (Eastern) be better? Also it seems the fact that the chat on my chat page, by Parachat, which is the most popular form of chat on the internet (so I read), is giving some of you problems getting to my chat because your browsers are not java-capable, I've come up with another solution. I can start another chat besides the weekly chat on my chat page which is java-run. We could all meet in the Geocities chat room. When you go to my site which is at http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Meadows/1200 once you click the "Yes, I Agree" at the bottom of the page it takes you to my next page and at the top of that page is my Geoguide. By clicking the word "chat" in the upper right corner of my GeoGuide it takes you to the Geocities chat area for the Geocities Hearland neighborhood my pages reside in. Once at the Geocities chat area Geocities asks you if you want to enter the chat room by java-mode or html-mode. So we could all meet there for a monthly chat. I'll go ahead and suggest we all meet there for the 10th of April at 8 PM. That will give everyone a chance to go to my page and the Geocities chat area and see what to expect for the chat on the 10th of April. If your browser is not java enabled you should still be able to take part in the chat, so that gets hid of one hurdle. But it also brings up a potential new hurtle. I think in order to take part in the chat rooms officially hosted by Geocities you must be a Geocities member. So if we all sign up for Geocities membership we can all chat in the official Geocities chat rooms. I will go there to the Heartland chat room (remember I live at Heartland/Meadows so don't get lost in another neighborhoods chat area folks) 15 minutes before the 8 PM April 10th chat and open up a Templefamily chat room, so when you get to the chat look to see chat publicly listed chat rooms have been opened up by members, and come on in to chat. I know its going to be harder to follow these directions than the ones to my java chat on my page but its the only way I know to give people a choice of java or no java chats. Let me know what you all think. William J. Temple temple-family@geocities.com http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/t/e/m/William-J-Temple
