Hello all, Up til now the earilest we have found any documents on Major Temple was 1765 Mecklenburg Co, NC. Thanks to a fellow Kennedy researcher (Major m Mary Kennedy) we now have him even earilier: > Major Temple: > 1759: "Rowan County, North Carolina Tax Lists 1757-1800," by Jo White > Linn:. > 1759 Rowan co. Militia Lists > Capt. Alexander Osborn’s Militia List > Leut. John McWhorther, Ensign Zebulon Brevard > Majer Tempell > (Others on list are: Robt. Bravard, Hugh Parks, William Sims, Jon Huggons, > James Huggons, Andrew Linn, > Irish & Davidson Crk. Settlements: Major would have been 23 years old, and this maybe?? where he met and married Mary Kennedy. We are also finding hints that the Kennedys maybe coming out of Lunenburg/Halifax Co, areas of VA (and Cecil, MD before that). Does anyone have Temples in any of these areas? Joanne
