    3. Hello Everyone: John F. TEMPLE (probably spelled the German way) immigrated in the mid-1800s. Of interest here is his son, Henry Frederic. Does anyone know any more about this band of TEMPLEs? Descendants of John F. TEMPLE - 15 Apr 1998 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FIRST GENERATION 1. John F. TEMPLE1 was born about 1800 in Germany. He immigrated in 1815 to NY.2 He Moved in 1852 in Chicago, Cook, IL.3 He died in 1905 in Chicago, Cook, IL. He was married to Cornelia MORRIS about 1840.4 Cornelia MORRIS5 died in 1855 in Utica, Oneida, NY. She was born in Utica, Oneida, NY. John F. TEMPLE and Cornelia MORRIS had the following children: 2 i. Morris D. TEMPLE was born in Utica, Oneida, NY. He was a Manufacturer in Chicago, Cook, IL.6 +3 ii. Captain Henry Frederic TEMPLE. SECOND GENERATION 3. Captain Henry Frederic TEMPLE7 was born on 14 Sep 1840 in Utica, Oneida, NY. He Moved in 1852 in Chicago, Cook, IL.8 He was a Teacher between 1857 and 1859 in IL.9 He Moved in 1859 in KY.10 He was a Banker in 1859 in Burlington, Des Moines, IA.11 He was a Teacher between 1859 and 1861 in KY.12 He served in the military between 1861 and 1865.13 Enlisted as a private, receiving his commission as a lieutenant 6 months later. He served in the 21st Kentucky Regiment of Infantry for the Union. After the battle of Chickamauga he was made the adjutant general of Col. Stanley Matthews' brigade. He Moved in 1865 in Chicago, Cook, IL.14 He was a Manufacturer between 1865 and 1871 in Chicago, Cook, IL.15 Worked with his father and brother until the Great Chicago Fire. He Moved in 1874 in Chattanooga, Hamilton, TN.16 He was a Mayor of Chattanooga in 1879 in Chattanooga, Hamilton, TN.17 He was an Owner and founder, Chattanooga Furniture Company between 1893 and 1913 in Chattanooga, Hamilton, TN.18 One of the five men who built the incline railway up Lookout Mountain, where he also built his home. Had seven children, three of whom survived past 1913. He was married to Sarah A. EGAN (daughter of Dr. W.B. EGAN) on 29 Jan 1868 in Chicago, Cook, IL.19 Sarah A. EGAN20 was born in Chicago, Cook, IL. She died in Chattanooga, Hamilton, TN. Captain Henry Frederic TEMPLE and Sarah A. EGAN had the following children: 4 i. Morris E. TEMPLE21. 5 ii. Walter T. TEMPLE22. 6 iii. Cornelia E. TEMPLE23.
