Descendants of Reverend Henry TEMPLE - 15 Apr 1998 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FIRST GENERATION 1. Reverend Henry TEMPLE1 was born about 1820 in VA. He was married to Sarah Jane. Reverend Henry TEMPLE and Sarah Jane had the following children: +2 i. John Newton TEMPLE. SECOND GENERATION 2. John Newton TEMPLE2 was born in 1846 in Essex Co., VA. He Moved about 1860 in AR. He was rejected for service in the Confederate Army, apparently due to his youth. Afterwards, he moved to Arkansas. After reaching Arkansas, he was made a prisoner of war by the Union forces, but soon released. He died on 27 Jul 1898 in Baltimore, Baltimore, MD. He was a Farmer and lumberman in Texarkana, AR.3 He was married to Alice M. GRESHAM (daughter of Dr. Henry GRESHAM and Laura M.) on 11 Oct 1882 in Tappahannock, VA.4 John Newton TEMPLE and Alice M. GRESHAM had the following children: 3 i. Henry Gresham TEMPLE5 was born on 18 Oct 1886 in Texarkana, AR. 4 ii. Charles Newton TEMPLE6 was born on 22 Jun 1889 in Texarkana, AR. SOURCES 1. Ed.
