Daniel and Elizabeth had 6 children. 1. James Henry McEwing b. 1/18/1858 Stiles, Oconto Co., WI. 2. John McEwing b.4/30/1860 Stiles, Oconto Co., WI. 3. Franklin McEwing b. 4/27/1862 Stiles, WI 4. Emma Jean McEwing b. 10/3/1864 Stiles, WI 5. Mary McEwing b. 4/22/1867 Stiles, WI 6. Elizabeth McEwing b. 1869 Stiles, WI 2. Rachel H. Temple b. 10/23/1830 Bowdoin, Sagadahoc, ME; married Mellen Smith 12/10/1853 in Richmond, ME. Rachel had Mellen had 2 children that I know of...there may be more though. Rachel and Mellen bought land in Oconto Co. WI in 1858 and in nearby Marinette Co. in 1855. They did live in upper Michigan for a time. 1. George Mellen Smith b. 2/1/1857 Stiles, WI 2. Volk 3/18/1860 in Oconto Falls, WI; married (2) Kathryn Rosencrantz 6/25/1903 in Oconto Falls, WI. (Almira was born 5/5/1842 in IL and died 8/21/1901 Oconto Falls, WI) George was a farmer and bought land in Oconto Co., in 1856 and added to his farm several more times throughout the years. He had a large farm. George and Almira had 9 children. 1. Adaline Agnes Temple b. 6/17/1861 Anderson Co., KS; died 1/8/1920 Oconto Falls, WI. Married James C. Reynolds 6/13/1894 Oconto Falls, WI. 2. Richard William Temple b. 8/2/1863 Stiles, WI; d. 9/30/1864 3. George Webb Temple b. 9/8/1865 Oconto Falls, WI; d. 6/9/1952. He married Martha Ann Sylvester 1907. 4. Emma Maria Temple b. 1/11/1868 Stiles, WI; d. 3/20/1932 Oconto Falls, WI. Married Roderick Ernest Rice 11/20/1887. 5. May Temple b. 1870 Oconto Falls, WI. 6. Lillian Isabel Temple b. 1872 Oconto Falls, WI; d. 2/28/1936 Oconto Falls, WI. Married Hugh Yarwood Matravers 6/10/1896 in Oconto Falls, WI. Hugh Matravers was a Methodist minister. 7. Mabel Hope Temple b. 7/23/1877 Oconto Falls, WI; d. 9/24/1930 Rochester, MN. Married Thomas J. Gallagher 3/23/1903. 9. Albert Chester Temple b. 8/19/1881 Oconto Falls, WI; d. 9/4/1909 Oconto Falls, WI.
