Volk 10/1/1868 Gillett, WI. (Agnes b. 1/10/1836 IL, d. 1/2/1900 Oconto Falls, WI. Daniel served in the Civil War from Wisconsin. He enlisted in famous company of "Oconto River Drivers", which later became known as Company "H", 4th Regiment of WI Calvary. He saw quite a bit of action in the deep south, but was sick much of the time. When he returned home he married a widow, Agnes Volk Andrews who had 3 children. Her husband was in the same company as Daniel, but was killed during the war. He was a lumberman and later a farmer, buying land in Oconto Co., WI. Daniel and Agnes had 5 children. 1.
