    1. Temple chat Fri. 8pm eastern
    2. Temple Family
    3. I created a Temple chat for everyone to take part in since only AOL members can take part in the AOL Temple chat. The chat will take place every Friday night at: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Meadows/1200/chat.html The chat will start at 5 PM Pacific, 6 PM Mountain, 7 PM Central, & 8 PM Eastern. The above is a link directly to my chat page on my site. I've gotten several messages from people asking me where the chat is located. Some people are under the false assumption that my Temple chat is officially hosted by Geocities like the Temple chat at AOL is hosted by AOL. Geocities only provides free pages for its members. It does not have any official surname chat's taking place. This is a personal chat room on my own pages. I created the chat over 3 weeks ago and have mentioned it on the Rootsweb Temple mailing list before I believe. Altough I haven't done that good a job at promoting the chat, including giving last minute or after-the-fact alerts and forgetting to include the link in some of the posts and mixing up the times between the subject heading of the post to the list and the time I mentioned in the body of the message. Also, not being there to meet everyone as they logged in was a mistake. When someone comes to the chat they must log in to see if anyone is there to chat. Some people may have come and left and never knew you had to log in, if they remembered how to find the page at all. Once you log in you should wait around a few minutes if no one else is there because if people come and go in split seconds they may all miss each other by a matter of a few seconds or minutes. Also, once the chat gets going the program will eventually stop after a certain amount of time or memory space or whatever. You will need to log back onto the chat to continue with the discussion. You will only miss a few seconds of the chat if you log back on as soon as you are cut off. The best way to get to the chat is by the above link, but for the detailed way to get there it goes like this: 1. The main link to my site is at http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Meadows/1200 2. From there by clicking the tiger picture you go to http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Meadows/1200/home.html 3. Then by clicking the "Family Tree Project" link, which has two animated target icons beside it, you go to my surname table at http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Meadows/1200/project_1.html 4. After scrolling down that surname table, at the bottom of the page clicking the link "Family Tree Project Part 2" takes you to http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Meadows/1200project_2.html 5. It is at that page that page that the link to the chat room is on. By clicking the link "chat" you go to the chat page at http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Meadows/1200 I think I may just add a link to the chat page on the second page "home.html" to make finding the chat a little easier for everyone. DorothyThis is fascinating - but somewhat inexplicable. I think what we are seeing is a mix of issue from Major's two wives. Here is what I have, and you will see some conflicts with what appear to be fairly soft dates in my data. Also, Major's late age when marrying this wife indicates his other wife must have been his first. Can anyone deconflict this data? 1. John's extra chldren.
    2. A & D Schendel
    3. Parker, Are you saying that the extra children that I have on John's family page are actually the children of Major's second marriage? Or did I misinterpret what you said? No, I think you put down Major instead of John. "Also, Major's late age when marrying this wife indicates his other wife must have been first." I think you were saying these children may be John's by his second wife which was probably Elizabeth Marshal. That is plausable.

    1. Temples from Jersey or NFLD
    2. Allen Temple Beagan
    3. Hi, My first post to the list. James Knight, a Captain , sailing under Letters of Marquis, b. ca 1775 in Jersey Island or England married a Rachel ? and settled in NFLD. I believe Rachel's name was Temple for the name has been used in the next 5 generations in NFLD as either a first or middle name . A Colonel James Temple died at Elizabeth Castle on Jersey on 17 February 1680 so I know there was at least one family of Temples on the Island. I am also aware of a Temple family in early 1800's in NFLD. I am also aware of another line of Knight / Chevalier from Jersey that carried the Temple name into NH in the early 1700's. I'd like to hear from anyone else working on a Temple and Knight connection. regards, Alllen Temple Beagan 1 Cross St. Sandwich, MA USA 02563 "Genealogy Notes" of Ireland, Jersey, Newfoundland, Prince Edward Island and the Boston States http://members.tripod.com/~Al_Beagan/start.htm

    3. To All: I found a couple of TEMPLEs in the Pennsylvania Vital Records, but can't link them up with anyone else. Perhaps one of you knows about one or more of the following: Mary TEMPLE of Brandywine married Uriah PECK of Uwchlan on 26 May 1817. William TEMPLE of Brandywine married Sarah Zimmerman of Susquehanna on 26 Sep 1822. Were William and Mary siblings or cousins? Were they descendants somehow of William, son of Thomas TEMPLE and Mary JEFFERIS? Please let me know if you have this information. Thanks, Park -- L.
